Lazy Sunday

After a day of being good - carpet cleaned and bathroom - we are now relaxing in front of the Oscars. Come on Colin!

Day 10 – Favorite classic book - Classic English: Pride & Prejudice, Classic American: Catcher in the Rye, Classic Swedish: The Long Ships
Day 11 – A book you hated - So many I didnt even bother finishing. But 'We have to talk about Kevin' is up there. As a kid I had to give up reading Jack London's Call of the Wild after just a few pages as the violence against animals just was too much.
Day 12 – A book you used to love but don’t anymore - trixy, I have probably forgotten more than I have actively stopped loving. Oh I know! As a kid I loved this series of books about a guy called Dante - I dont know if I wouldnt still love them but as I have not read them for 25 years I think its likely I might have out grown them
Day 13 – Your favorite writer - so many! Ok picking just one: Margaret Atwood. (2nd choice: John Irving, 3rd choice: Charlaine Harris - just a couple of backups)
Day 14 – Favorite book of your favorite writer - Alias Grace. (or any book from the Handmaid's tale)
Day 15 – Favorite male character - Owen Meany
Day 16 – Favorite female character - Pollyanna

A bit more

Today I am doing this sitting next to my book case as my memory is a bit bad. So better answers should come out of it, I hope...

Day 07 – Most underrated book - Big Jessie by Zane Radcliffe - very funny book that not a lot of people have read. Set in Northern Ireland. Or any Barbara Cartland books, best enjoyed when bored on a sunny (or rainy) summers day somewhere there is nothing to do. Popcorn for the mind.

Day 08 – Most overrated book - hard to remember as I am sure I would have ended up donating it to charity rather than keeping it. Actually no, I do know: We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver. Just read The Fifth Child by Doris Lessing, as its far superior and she captures the essence of the dilemma in a lot less pages and tells a more compelling story.

Day 09 – A book you thought you wouldn’t like but ended up loving - PopCo by Scarlett Thomas as well as her book The End of Mr Y - both looked great but that always makes me suspicious. Loved them both! The types of books if EL wrote books that I think she would write.
